Leigh Bortz began her career in education with the youngest of learners in 1993. She served children and families aged 18 months to 5 years old in an early childhood development center in Richmond, Virginia. After acquiring her master’s in teaching, she excitedly began working in elementary schools, grades K-5. For the last 25 years, she has served as a general education educator, a gifted resource provider and an instructional coach. In July of 2025, she began her newest adventure in education as a member of Radford University’s TTAC. She currently supports divisions through the Virginia Tiered Systems of Support as a systems coach, as well as instructional/literacy coaching and co-teaching projects.
